Son of the late, great Bob Marley, Julian produces an organic fusion of rootical bass reggae, hard, driving anthems, breezy jazz sounds and samba-tinged Jamaican ska. His tunes urge spiritual awareness on a universal level, infused with street-energy hip-hop, bubbling dancehall, and a smooth combination of R&B and reggae. A West Indian vibe is heading to The Public in West Bromwich as a new Reggae night, Dublick, comes to town. The monthly event, held on the last Friday of each month will feature live performances from a number top quality local and international artists, as well as the legendary DJ’s, the G Corp Crew.

Luciano emerged as one of the most important reggae singers in decades and the greatest hope for roots reggae’s survival in the digital dancehall era. With hits such as Shake It Up Tonight, Where There Is Life and Sweep Over My Soul, Luciano’s authentic roots background brings comfort to the poor man in the face of recession and exploitation. Tonight the Messenger returns to The Drum stage alongside Turbulence, whose album Notorious elevated him to the world stage.

The Dub Pistols (live)

 

Dub Pistols have gained acclaim and notoriety in equal measure for their unique brand of hip hop, dub and ska, manifested in an unrelenting punk attitude. They are consistently considered one of the finest live acts in the UK.

 

Their four critically-lauded albums have featured collaborations with Specials founder Terry Hall, reggae legends Horace Andy and Gregory Isaacs and UK rap stalwarts Rodney P. and Blade.
