Prophecy - Natural Vibes

Lij Amlak said "A man like you with such conscious lyrics should be called Prophecy" and that name has been with Clive Darien ever since.

His debut album 'Natural Vibes' was recorded at 'Lost Toyz' studio in Ipswich, produced by Gordon 'Innerheart' Mulrain and backed by the 'Innerheart Band' . He lists his main influence as 'Garnet Silk' which is evident in his musical style. There are eight tracks on the album all of which will no doubt apeal to the mainstream reggae fan, there is essence of hip hop mixed in with what are essentialy conscious roots sounds.

This is a very good first album in my opinion and showcases a talented singer/song-writer who I'm sure we are going to hear a lot more of. He describes his songs as spiritual reggae, songs for the soul and I must agree, they are. My favourite tracks on the album are 'Natural Vibes' and 'Freedom Must Come'. There's also a dub track thats worth a mention 'Hail Him Dub'. All in all a album thats well worth checking out.
